100 members are now a part of the Former Fundamentalists meetup group!

Due to our base 10 number system and the human need to associate significance with things - We at former fundies think this is worth celebrating.  While knowing that (at least) 100 people feel affected by a religious/fundamentalist past isn't that wonderful, knowing that we are all in this together is.

I think this group has excellent potential to help people in trying circumstances and sort out big questions.  I think that it can be a good group regardless of how much money or funding it has.  However, extra funds sure would be nice for helping pay for the meetup group, renting public spaces, and expanding our options.  So I, Ruby Leigh want to do something about that.  I am willing to donate $100 (additional) for 100 members of my own money, if we can raise an initial $100 together.
You can help in two ways:
1. Chipping in! (of course)
2. Sharing this Chip-in widget on your blog or website

This is Wonderful, Ruby Leigh! Your offer to match donations up to $100 is awesome too!

And yes... it is funny how my first reaction to counting members was 'wasn't King David punished for his Pride as a result of counting "his" people?' If any plagues or famines pop up, we'll know who to blame ;) I think this site is a great way to celebrate that we, who are seeking new strength, are strong... together.... and it's not just about strength in numbers, but strength in our growing diversity. Thank you for doing this!!

A nice milestone indeed. It should be noted that this is simply deconverts in the Twin Cities who've managed to find us. I suspect this number is repeated many times over every day throughout this great free-thinking independent country of ours.

Can recent past contributions get applied to the $100 goal?
